Happy spring day to all my followers that do not use Facebook. I just want to
wish you a good day, which is very much observed here, in Tirana.
It’s called ‘Dita e Verës’
(literally Day of Summer) that goes back to an old tradition of pagan origins. It celebrates
nature gifts of the season, and in Albania it is as a national day of rest
enjoyed with the preparation of special food, called ‘ballokumja’!
Today, in Tirana, we are blessed
with gorgeous weather : 67F (19C) temperature, 0% precipitation, 37% humidity,
and 2 mph wind!
One small note that I usually
connect with the coming of springtime is that the swallows have not yet returned
to the nest they built on the roof of my balcony, but I trust they shall be
here soon……!
